Jennifer Lopez engaged in an email conversation with ELLE magazine, discussing her adventures in love and the journey of self-discovery that inspired her designs. ‘The experience with ‘This Is Me… Now’ is a journey of self-discovery, and I’ve attempted to reflect that in each design of the collection,’ shared the singer. Specific highlights, such as the leafy green color, her lucky hue (the color of her second engagement ring with her current husband, Ben Affleck), and the hummingbird-shaped charm, were intentionally incorporated.

Elaborating further on the significance of the hummingbird symbol, Jennifer Lopez referred to it as her ‘favorite detail.’ ‘Hummingbirds symbolize love, energy, and resilience, but whenever I see them, I always feel it’s a sign from God that everything will be alright,’ she said. ‘I thought about placing it on some pieces and wearing it inside my clothes daily as a reminder for myself that everything will be okay.’

This album is the most personal musical product to date and perhaps the most romantic for me. ‘This Is Me… Now’ narrates a journey of self-discovery, and I’ve endeavored to echo that in the designs of the collection. The rich colors and timeless fabric materials aim to inspire self-love and confidence, a prevailing theme not just in the music but throughout the entire experience I’m sharing through ‘This Is Me… Now’.

How has your lingerie style evolved?

Well, my style in general is always evolving, but there are still some similarities between me then and me now. I’ve always loved sensual lace materials and unique details, as you’ll see in this collection, but now more than ever, I’m inclined towards silk. I adore silk dresses, robes, and sleepwear. They evoke a timeless allure but can be combined with lace bras and panties to bring about a more youthful and sensual appearance. I suppose what I’m really focusing on now is what I feel content with and what I want to wear. I wear these items to feel comfortable and want others to feel content in their own skin when they wear them. Love yourself because everyone looks beautiful when you’re confident and appreciate your true self.

Your favorite piece from the ‘This Is Me… Now’ album and why?

Honestly, I cherish all the pieces, it’s truly difficult to choose. But there’s a particular detail that caught my attention, inspired by the album in the song named ‘Hummingbird,’ and we’ve incorporated the image of a beautiful little hummingbird into some pieces, an icon that I adore and holds a very powerful meaning for me.

How does your lingerie selection differ when dressing for an evening date or a special occasion with your husband compared to when you’re dressing just for yourself?

To be honest, there’s no difference in how I choose clothing for a date or a special occasion with my husband and how I dress for myself. He loves me for who I am, and thus, the more genuine I am with myself, the more I feel his love. I dress for my self-confidence and for what makes me feel comfortable, and that shines when I love the feeling of what I’m wearing and how it suits me. That energy attracts people towards you, not a specific piece of clothing.

Do you have any advice for women of all ages to feel confident wearing lingerie?

Wear what you love and feel most comfortable in, whether it’s a bodysuit, a flowing dress, or a silk nightgown. That’s what I love about this collection, ‘This Is Me… Now!’ Embrace who you are right now! Accept your present self!
